So, now we're in Doug's live room. The ceiling is the same kind of ceiling in the control room of recording studio London where it's stuffed completely with fluffy fiberglass and covered with fabric. A lot of people worry about the basement studios and the bedroom studios and their home project studios. Well, the ceiling is low, I know it'll never be good, but if you think about it, a ceiling that absorbs 100% is acoustically the same as a ceiling that is infinitely high, as Doug said. Either way the sound goes all the way up and doesn't come back.

Doug: In fact, it's even better than a high ceiling because it never comes back.

Ethan: Right. You can always add ambience and reverb.

Doug: Exactly.

Ethan: And later when mixing, if you capture ambience . . .

Doug: Actually, it gives you more options as far as adding ambience.

Ethan: That's correct because if you have a low ceiling, especially with overhead drums, and we'll get to Doug's drum area in a minute.
